Meet Reschedule

I'm not sure if you guys received this or not, but our meet is rescheduled. Heres the email Lance sent me. I can email you guys the form attached if you guys didn't get it.


2008 So Cal Regionals/2009 Cal State Meet

Thank you for your support of USA Powerlifting and for your entry for the 2008 Southern California Regional Championships held on Saturday, November 15. As you know, the fires in Sylmar had a significant impact on our plans for the meet as many of our registered competitors and several of our meet staff were not able to get to the venue that morning.

Consequently, the meet as scheduled was postponed to an alternate date to be determined. Fortunately, twenty-one of the fifty-two lifters entered and some of our meet staff were able to get to the venue that morning. Due to the fact that we had a sufficient number of referees on-site, we moved forward with the meet for those lifters who were there with the provision that all would be offered the opportunity to lift again when the So Cal Regional meet was rescheduled.

Unfortunately, we are not able to secure a venue to reschedule the So Cal Regionals for this year. In consideration of these events beyond my control, all lifters intending to lift at the So Cal Regionals on November 15 will receive full credit for entry to the 2009 California State Championships on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Velocity Sports Performance.

In consultation with the USAPL State Chairman, it has been determined that the State Championships will serve as the official “make-up” meet for the So Cal Regionals. Regrettably, no alternative meets will be available and it is financially impossible for facilitate refunds due to the tremendous costs already incurred for the meet in November.

If you would like to enter the State Championships, you must completely fill out, sign and mail a new entry for this meet (see attached). Of course, no entry fee will be required.

If you were fortunate to lift in the meet on November 15, those results will stand as the OFFICIAL results of the 2008 Southern California Regionals. Medals, Best Lifters Awards and T-shirts will be shipped to those lifters and those results will published at the USAPL California web site and in Powerlifting USA Magazine. As we promised then, your entry fee from this meet will still be valid for the State Championships.

Thank you for your patience and I apologize for any inconvenience these unfortunate and unprecedented events may have caused you and I hope the new date in February is one that will allow you to compete with us.
