On all of these I was doing the first rep at probably an inch below parallel just to make sure I can do that for the meet, 2nd and 3rd reps were usually around parallel or a little high

Excellent work. I remember when you were in the race to 3 plates and now you're tripling it.
Thanks. Yeah it helps that I'm weighing a solid 188 right now (so I'm most likely gonna be competing as a 198 LOL). But it also helps that I'm just forcing myself to not sandbag anymore. I'm basically forcing myself to do 5 lbs more than last week and I haven't failed yet, so I plan to keep on doing it and making gains.
Also, law school adds a ton of aggression that I take out on the weight at the gym. And another thing is that I've been lifting with my roommate who had never squatted before I showed him how to, and even though he squats high school musical (routinely 3-4 inches above parallel), he's already hit 275x1, so I have this competition to stay stronger than him.
