First day back to squatting after Raw Nationals. I want to try training no belt for a while to get my core into better shape.
regular back squats:
325 x 5
325 x 5 + 40 lbs of chains
325 x 5 + 80 lbs of chains
325 x 5 + 120 lbs of chains
325 x 5 + 160 lbs of chains
cleans:
185 x 5 x 2
195 x 5 x 2
3 set of leg extensions to failure + squats @135 to failure
3 of these monster sets and i couldn't walk...
It was around this time that the other guys in the gym commented on how all I was doing was squatting. I told them that the squat rack was my only friend. Also that I had a t-shirt to back the statement up.
pause squats:
135 x 5 @ 5sec
185 x 5 @ 5sec
225 x 5 @ 5sec
I hadn't tried pause squats last before. Since my quads were completely shot from the exercise before, it was a lot of hips to get out of the hole, which was nice.
