Competition

Hit 110/136 for a 246 total. That's a 12kg PR over my last meet, and 136 = 300lb, so I'm really happy about my results. Also, I set a PR on coffee consumption as well: 48 ounces.

Wow, that's a solid PR. What do you think made the difference for this competition?

Also, what is your regular caffeine/coffee consumption like?

I actually periodize my caffeine intake, lol. The days before a meet are zero caffeine. I only use it for heavy workouts and competitions. The reason I had so much Saturday was more of a mistake than anything else. I accidentally put too much water in the coffee maker, and since there was no simple way to drain it I just had to make a ton, which made me then decide to just bring it and go for it.

I think what made the difference for this competition is that I simplified my training x1000. My training for the last 4-5 months or so has basically just been "try to beat the previous workout's sets/reps/weight." I minimized the assisstance exercises I did to just snatch, clean and jerk, power snatch, power clean, front squat, back squat, and pulls (early in the cycle, like early Feb). I also made sure to keep my volume up during the last week and made sure I could easily front squat my clean and jerk (I did 135 for doubles like a week before and they were pretty easy).

Also, I did 115/135 1.5 months ago, so I really just needed to replicate that. Unfortunately the snatch just got away from me.
