Luke 7-18-11 squat 3x3

Squat
355 x 3 @ 9-
375 x 3 @ 9+
390 x 3 @ 10+ (5 pound PR) last rep was really slow
Note: I have been doing squats facing the mirror so I can see my depth which has generally been good. Also I have no spotter and instead rely on the pins, although I have not failed yet.

Pause Squat with 3 second self imposed count
345 x 3 @ 10 (10 pound PR) first 2 reps were quick counts

Squat 5 (wk 2)

Well, I tried. I was suppose to go to this gym. I got there at 7, but was running late. Apparently, the later crew wasn't lifting this week, so there were only two dudes there and they were leaving in 20 minutes. Mostly a scheduling conflict, as the owner sounded really cool. So instead of lifting here:

475 x 5 @ 9

I wasn't planning on not using bands for another two weeks. There were no spotters so I dragged on the trainers over for my 475. He ended up helping with his finger tips on the last two reps, so I ended up bagging it after that since it wasn't quality work.

I noticed my lower back was grabbing at me today, which happened last time I had that piriformis tightness. I've been stretching it daily since last thursday, but I'm concerned that it's tightened back up on me.

Lunges:
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 5, 5

I couldn't find anything else there, so I just did leg extensions and leg curls for a few supersets and hit up some abs. Did some much needed stretching as well.

Felt decent. Maybe ~10 lbs more left in me? It was nice to do squat singles with a fresher lower back. (last cycle, they were done after deadlift singles)

SS-bar box squats:
225 x 5 @ 9
245 x 5 @ 8+
275 x 5 @ 8+
295 x 5 @ 8+

The first set felt way harder for some reason.. I wasn't even sure i was going to go up after that.

Finished with some leg prass and ball tranversus (man, that is hard)

Squat 1

Squat:
495 x 1
525 x 1 (+6 PR)
545 x f
545 x 1 (+26 PR) @ 10+

On the first attempt at 545, i didn't sit back and just fell forward. The second attempt went much better. People around said it was below parallel, but it felt higher than 525. I need to make sure I sink these big squats.




Pause Squats:
405 x 3, 3, 3 @ 3 seconds

Zercher Squats:
225 x 8, 4

No pad for these, which made my arm hurt.

Finished with box jumps and bosu ball transversus. Overall not a bad day. Still feeling exhausted from deadlifts, so I cut the volume back a bit to add to the recovery. Next week is going to be "fun" doing 5x5 again...

Slept like 4 hours last night. I need sleep desperately.

495 x 3 @ 10 (+10 PR)
505 x 3 @ 10 (+20 PR)



Pause Squats:
405 x 3 @ 3sec, @ 10
425 x 3 @ 3sec, @ 10+

gassed hard.

Zercher Squats:
225 x 8
275 x 8, 8

Finished with two rounds of plyos and bosu ball transversus.
