Moar Squats

Front Squat: 155x2x8

Box Squat (18" box instead of 15"): 185x5
205x5
225x5, 5, 5

and some other random snatches, cleans, and abs

The awesome things about today were:

1. Learning that my back is kosher with box squatting again
2. On the first set at 225 on the box squats, my boxers ripped in half. My glutes are becoming stronger lol.

Did you do DE front squats then 5x5 high box squats?

I also left out the "heavy single" portion of the DE front squats, because I felt like I would get enough strain doing the box squats.

I'm gonna be honest here, I like this format more than the regular one (except use a box that goes to depth). You'll actually build muscle doing 5x5 back squats and doing fluff DE work.

Yeah, that is an option. I think that could work out pretty well. I think I'll give it a go.

Good. I really think DE work only works for 2 reasons: 1) Bands and chains make the weight you use much greater, and 2) in gear, esp. multi-ply, you get help at the bottom, just like with bands and chains, so pushing "faster" may actually be a benefit.
