Sheiko

So, I finished the first 2 weeks of Sheiko 37, I can deal with the boring-ness.
My muscles and CNS can too. But my joints cant.
I eat so much, fish oil supps whatever, but I'm not going to hurt myself.
So I'm discontinuing sheiko.

What isa rough outline of what you all do?

We usually do a 5 day split that Dave outlines in various 3-6 week cycles.

Monday - Squat
Tuesday - Upper Back
Wednesday - Bench
Thursday - Squat/Deadlift
Saturday - Bench + Upper Back

Some of us deviate a bit from the routine and try different things. Darvin and I are using 5/3/1 right now, for example.

I saw on your BB.com log that you had done 5/3/1 or something like it previously. Did you get good results with it?

I did 5/3/1 for about 6 months, with some modifications.. in 8 months my lifts went from 340/220/340 to 475/315/520. I started with bodybuilding assistance stuff, and moved in BBB, the volume really helped my lifts. Then I moved into a more westside style lifts, and the DE bench really helped my break a plateau. I think it looked almost like what you outlined, but I did DE bench combined with upper back both on tuesday..

Also, which days do you ME, RE and DE?

It's usually not that clear cut. If we squat 2 days a week, Dave usually has Monday be a "lighter" day (Sets of 5), and has Thursday as the heavy day (Triples, Doubles, or singles). Similar setup for benching (wednesday=light, saturday=heavy).

If we are using suits or shirts, we will do those on the heavy days.

If you had good results with a certain system, then do that. Just try not to get injured lol.

Check the google group site. There should be a post a few weeks ago with what the current 3 week cycle is. I'll be sending out something this weekend with the full training split until the November meet.

Also, are you taking any Ibuprofen? Fish oil really doesn't have the anti-inflammatory powers you need for what you're doing to your joints. If you can take it, do so.

I'll start taking IB, thanks david.
I had knee problems from football, but I haven't had them in a while, until sheiko haha..and i'll check out the google groups

It's funny that you have knee problems from Sheiko. I had knee problems until I started Sheiko, but then they went away (I also fixed my squat form).

But Dean had the same experience you did, so I guess it depends.
